I think you've captured a great expression here. I get a strong sense of happiness from the photo, which makes it a joy to look at.
I'm a bit surprised by the grain, I used Fuji Superia 400 at one time and the photos did not come out as grainy. In fact I thought that the graininess was a part of the PS dress-up you mentioned in About, until I read your reply to Pat. Is it only the scan that is so grainy, or is the grain on the print as well? Is this the full frame photo, or has it been cropped? Cropping would have made the grain stronger.
