I like the shape of the flower a lot and I don't find the sky flat at all, on the contrary, the clouds give it some movement in my view.

Beautiful shapes and colours with perfect exposure.I don't think the sky is flat.It contrasts nicely with the yellow pods.

I think this is one of my favourite flower photos on the site. It has simple, yet very strong lines, and the background is wonderful. No, I don't think it looks too flat! The whisps of cloud in the sky are great.
Perfect exposure and focus (it must have been hard with such a narrow DOF). I love both the shadows and highlights on this flower, particularly the highlights on the bottom of the orange petals. It really makes the flower stand out and come alive (so to speak). :-)

thanks for the encouraging comments. I wasnt too sure on this as the sky seems really flat to me (like its fake), although I do like the colours! H:)
