I certainly can't see much difference. In principle, though, it is best to add the final amount of sharpening when you are looking at the image while it is the same size as it will be displayed on screen here at Usefilm. This is a basic rule of sharpening that you are probably thoroughly familiar with. But I used to forget it, and just upload resized photos, cut down to 640 pixels. Now I add just a "touch" of mild sharpening AFTER they are reduced in size, and I often have people commend my sharp pictures. The thing is not to overdo it. Just slightly too much sharpening, and the whole things looks significantly degraded. Although not everyone appears to notice this, as I often see photos that look over sharpened to me. I used to think that 1200 pixels width was an absolute minimum, so 640 pixels feels really restrictive.

Roger, I can't believe this is any better (see attached). There is so much "less" there. The image has 0.242% of the original pixels - 99.6 percent of the pixels are gone.

Oh, very impressive! I know what a lot of work must have gone into this. I use a commercial stitching program, but when that fails, I tweak the stitches with PanoTools, a great but rather user-UNfriendly set of graphic tools designed for the job. One suggestion: I think you should have resharpened this before you uploaded it.
Isn't it a shame that we are limited to a 640 pixel width?

I full size image would be hard to post. I've made a couple of prints on cotton rag paper. They are 43" w x 12" as that is the limit of my printer. Had to use quadtone inks...

I must agree with Dave. Great work, although the size limitations of this site does not allows us to appreciate the fine detail. A full size sample would be awesome.

I think it is great the way it is. I am not and expert, but I would be proud if it was mine. A great picture to have on the wall!
