Beautiful natura morta, Philips, as are the others I saw. Compositional you are very good and the atmosphere is that of the old Dutch still lifes. Your portraits also reveal a painterly approach. Well done. Regards, Han Timmer (I am a Dutch art historian, after all...)

Thanks all. Mary, the puppy was fun in a way. He whinned the whole time I was shooting him. Got on my nerves. Give me a 2 year old child anytime ;)

Phillip!! I thought you were gone, but a look at your portfolio shows me you have been here all along! I've added you to my friends list so as not to miss your posts. I love the colors in this one, very warm and inviting. Wish there was a mere tad more light on that left pear, but I love how the light bathes the bowl of fruit. The background also rocks.
Also loved the Hank series. How fun is a puppy?
