Bjorn, Let's see, you asked for some serious comments...A good portrait is a matter of guiding the eye to the person in the picture..in this picture you used a grey background-cloth..the result is that a lot of light is in the background.. it pulls the eye of the viewer into the background and that is an effect you do not want too much. If the girl had had black hair the problem would have been smaller. The black hair would have framed the face and thus protected it from the background. With blond hair like this the girl has no boundary and no protection against the light in the background.. so you lose a real perception of her in the foreground and some of the distance between her and the background. The obvious and not very original solution is to use a complete black blackground (don't)you could try coloring and a kind of filter to make the girl stand out more. I took the liberty of playing around a bit with the pic. I colored the background and changed the radial density (darkened the edges), I used a filter (Photoshop/filter/penseelstreek/hoeklijn)and then reduced the effect by 90% on the girl. This is just one solution, you could consider using a ring-shaped flashlight if you don't want to go over the picture in Photoshop. Rob

Bjorn I'm going to bed now, but I will help you with this in the morning. You are using too many lights and your keylight is way to low and dead center.

I like this photo too. The model is attractive but her pose in this image seems less professional than the one in your first shot. She looks a little tense or shy or both, I'm not sure. Talking to the model while shooting this kind of pictures generally helps incouraging her to relax and dare taking a more self secure pose. Also.... some artificial lights can make wonders. This doesn't mean that it is not a goed foto, Bjorn. Just some suggestion that might make this kind of work even better. You've done great again!!!

Hi Bjorn, Another beautiful picture. Perhaps it would work to crop a little bit. the light has perhaps to much contrast , its the best to control it with the exposure-meter. Now you can reduce contrast in PS and add a layer "soft light "90 percent. A little bit red and a bit saturation reduction for less pale skin.
Perhaps you like it. Bravissimo for you
Regards from Jan

Great first attempt dear friend. very professional. perhaps a little bit over exposed on the left side of her face. the background is suitable. the only thing you have to worry about is the proper light on the face so to have less shadows. here is the problem with overexposed of her hair and left part of the face ;-) othervise excellent. go for it dear Bjorn. Good work here. Biliana
