About Took this in Leesburg, VA. Just uploaded Phtoshop CS and started testing the raw image filter. Please let me know what you think. I increased the shadow intensity and saturation, just a bit. Thanks!

i really like this image Sarah! sounds strange but i have a thing for taking photos of stairs! (yikes that looks worse written down! :-) my interest is usually showing where the stairs are leading to. ) love the colours too. great portfolio. cheers, jo

PS?...........BS!.....The original image stands. Changing contrast and hue do not improve. This image in not about making the stairs "pop." And, the coolness of the carmine red, the "washed" paint feel, and the "flatness" of the first are truer to the sense of these old buildings.

That does look less flat, but the white took on a bit of a reddish cast.

I don't know if this one is necessairily any better, but I played with the levels & contrast a bit.

I took a browse through your portfolio last night and you have some super shots! I didn't particularly notice any flatness in any of the other photos. Have you changed your monitor settings or tried adjusting the settings in CS since you installed it?

Whoa! That last one sure is vivid, how about half way inbetween?

Trying to get the color to match when I upload. Christine is right. It looks so flat. Any ideas?

Wow! Nice abstract. Like the finish on the stairs, but I think the overall composition is it's best feature. Good work, Sarah!!

Hi Sarah,
I really like this image! The pattern on the steps is great and I also like the angles. One thing I think you could try is to up the vibrancy of the colors a little. It looks a tad flat. Try running Auto Levels or Auto Color on it, that should really make the red pop and add a little more depth overall. It might even bring the railings more towards the front and separate them from the stairs.

I haven't gotten my hands on a copy of CS yet. Is it much different than 7.0?

Heaven? Or maybe just upstairs in Leesburg! Its an unusual shot Sarah, I like the colour and the pattern along the staircase but I'm not so fond of the overall image. Besides you have way too much money if you have CS already *grin*
