Fantastic image! Great choice of scene for IR filter.

Regards, David

ps- Ansel Adams spent hours in the darkroom dodging and burning, making contrast masks, and using numerous other techniques to try to match his photographs to his vision. We're very fortunate to live in an age where we can process photos without noxious chemicals. Unless a picture claims to be documentery, I'm not sure what the fuss is about.

No offense taken, but I cannot agree with you. I have to use the same photography rules as any 35mm camera regarding light, composition, shutter speed, and aperture. All the conversion does is remove the red color and change the photo to grayscale. But the photograph itself is assembled like any other great photo would be. You must have proper exposure and good composition or it will not work.

good bye! good bye!   {K:-694} 11/3/2003
Suzanne, please take no offence :) to me, what defines photography is light, not the channels in photoshop.. I do like the picture, my eyes enjoy it, yet I don't quite agree it's a photography, it's an art of painting, not an art of painting with light :) You didn't enhance it nor touched up, you did convert it, therefore created it, right? I use both film medium format cameras and Nikon D100, and I use D100 with the same mindset I use my old rollei, that's very creative. Take care, D.

RE the "photoshopology" comment. Too bad you feel that way because you are really limiting yourself photographically. Any infrared photography requires post-editing to be really good. And even the pros use software like Photoshop to enhance their photographs. It still took an eye to see the scene as it would appear after my Photoshop work.
