About This homeless man was talking to himself on a bus stop. I took the snapshot from my car, while waiting for a semaphore, with low light (1/45, hald-held). The colors were worthless, so I converted the picture into B&W, wich, moreover, I think matchs much better the subject. When I saw him on the computer he quickly reminded me of those philosophers of the classical painters. Velázquez, for example, found his philosopher models amongst street people, beggars and so.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not kidding with this at all. This man seemed mentally disturbed and I think it's a shame for all us that this people are lost in the streets.

Was the lens wide open Felipe? The gaussian blur of the background really bothers me - its just not natural enough around hte steps and other parts of the foreground that are in the same focal place as he is. GFetting this optically is much preferred for me.

The subject is a tough one but well taken, look to have got eye contact just as you were shooting. You see a lot of such people on the streets of warsaw. Sometimes they are alcoholics deep in the throws of mental illness and dilusion but often its the mentally ill. Theyu live in their own world, who are we to say which is right and which is wrong.

Nice timing, love his expression. Could do a bit better with your selection before you blur the background, stands out a bit.

This is fine PJ and illustrates your theme very well. I like your choice of vertical format (since so many here seem to feel their camera is locked in the horizontal position) which allows you to fill the frame with the important stuff. Also, the composition benefits rom a strong diagonal line. The hat fuses with the blown out background, but that's quibbling.
