Thx for all your comments, what you're seeing behind the statue is the exposure burn out (to acct for backlighting) of the sun, and clouds. You have a point john, i wasnt really thrilled with this one, mainly due to the flat light on the statue, guess as i went thru my processing steps (took a good bit of the day) i managed to zing some contrast detail into the statue that really just isnt there~

Terrence, I was really grabbed by the thumbnail, but a bit dissapointed by the full image. The background is phenomenal! The statue just looks a little too processed for my tastes, but hey, this is still a great shot!
