I've missed quite a few of your shots lately john, but I like this one the best, the tones and composition are something special, that said, this could look even better with a nice polarised blue sky! :) it would compliment with the colurs of the tree's and Bridge. keep posting and i'll keep admiring Later Bryce

thanks katia. i like the lines from the shadow in your pic.
as for what types of light...a golden reflector will warm things up a bit. and try out different things...just things around the house (no need to buy anything yet) and see what gives you the feel and mood that you are looking for:)

Hi John,
thanks for your comments, expecially that one with a reflector devise, I tought often about it, but my problem is to decide what kind of light to reflect (a simple lamp, a coloured ones...?) I should just try the different results. I had a look in your portfolio and I noticed we have some common point in prespective and choise of subject, don't you think?

I love the colors and composition. Great DOf. I was scrolling this up and down and the bridge planks were moving:) Really! That was just AWESOME!

I wasn't expecting that much of a change in vibrance with slide film (new to photography), but I think this picture is what showed me the difference. That and my agfa doesn't like your scanner. By the way, that isn't the beginning of a hiking trail, its more like the middle. ;)
Terrence, I'd like to hear your explaination on what a tall square is.

thankyou all for the great comments:) I appreciate them all.
Terrence, I'll play around with the cropping a bit more and see what works (i was wondering about that scraggly tree line... i'll have to go back there when the sky is blue;))

the only thing that would make this shot kewler would be to crop it to a tall square, basically above the smaller tree on the right, to kill off the scraggly tree line and white sky, otherwise quite an eye tickler, always fun to take average subjects and make them interesting
