Jeroen, this image is super contrasty, and never really scans as well as I would like. I sharpen most images after I convert them to 72dpi and size them for web use. Generally, I sharpen by 148%, using a radius of .9 pixels, and a threshold of 3-5 levels. On the ducks, it was 150%, .9 pixels, threshold of 3. When I scanned this transparency with my Nikon LS4000, the image was dark. I adjusted levels to lighten the overall image, but also dropped the upper output level to 245 (from 255) to retain some detail in the whites. I try to match my screen image to the original as viewed on a light table. On this particular image, I've never completely succeeded.
