Wonderful and happy picture! The light and the joy is a must.But a "purist" (a taliban) would say,from the top of his arrogance, he?s confused with so many "distractions" and not a main subject to focus on. But as I am not that kind of thing, I love your picture.

This is a very nice picture I am sure the family loved it ! I think more people should have pictures like this taken ... I think walmart and O mils are great but how much of the soul do they really catch ?

Excellent composition. The bright background rendered the people in the foreground a bit too dark -- some dodging might help. But otherwise an outstanding capture. The golden sunset lighting is particularly compelling.

Hi Dirck,
Yes you are right. It was very difficult to keep the expressions with the lightning coming from behind the people. It was a very bright light coming from the sun. I didn't want to see just silhouettes of the people, I wanted to show some of the joy in their faces. So I had to take several shots with different exposures and without those people noticing me. I had to use 5x zoom too because I had to shoot this from a distance. Lucky this was the only photo wich I was satisfied with and the right photo to show their joy.

You captured that golden glow beautifully, Diana - a really nice 'slice of life' photo! It's great that there is still detail in the people's faces to appreciate their expressions, despite the brightness of the water behind them. Very good!
