Hi Eric,
Stunning photograph of such a simple thing, so simple that I've never noticed this before, and I have a sago palm!! That's really BAD isn't it? Guess I really need to look closer!

Anyway...love how you've expertly composed this image, very nice. Excellent in the black and white also!

Good work,
Lori :)

I had an urge to go through your portfolio again Eric. Lot's of excellent photos in there... Enough to make me jealous anyway...

As for these one in particular, I love the DOF and the diagonal composition. All in all, this goes in my "I wish I had shot this" list.

I remember this one from way back, Eric. Very nice use of shallow DOF to isolate the repeating patterns from the b/g.

This is so beautiful! It has an amazing design aspect that would look great in european advertising. The choice in the DOF is great too! Ciao!

Excellent. The narrow depth of field helps in this instance and you have controlled it well.

http://www.usefilm.com/articles/ColourtoB&W/ this article covers it pretty well.

Very interesting image. Terrance, tell me more about PS B&W -- as a greenhorn to that question I don't understand. Why would it be surprisingly good PS B&W? What is the difference between PS B&W and B&W film?

Suprisingly good for PS b&w, enjoy the diagonal movement going on here, nice n sharp, my only problem is with the grey dead space, but how to handle that i do not know.

Mr. Macro strikes again!

Very nice control and use of DOF. Wonderful tonality. Excellent. This would be a little neater if the background was darker which would let the curls POP.
