i think it is your bias that was instrumental in providing such "intimacy" for this absolutely darling portrait of your grandchild. you are right about the wonderful window light and the beautiful catch light reflected in the distant gaze. the perspective of teh mother's shoulder also adds to a great portrait. But you know Tony, you were once a tender child who must have received the kind of nurturing your grandchild does. That is the root of some of your love for others and the passion that shows in this image.
