Thanks for your comments on my photos! Im double flattered, first because it's coming from a photographer whose work I value and then because my photo made u think of Mr Mutter's.
I chose it to add my comments on this photo because I think it's a sheer example of what makes an artist different from the rest of us: the way s/he looks at things that we all see. There's art all around us but it takes a sensitive eye to "translate" it. This is what your view of this cloud does to me.

gorgeous - somebody said sky shots seldom hold their own - this one does - it is spectacular...you had to see it and capture it and you did....

I would have suggested even the poetry project, as this capture seems to speak volumes to me. Yes, it is as simple a capture as they come, but your command of composition allowed you to capture a brief moment in time, a spark if you will, that will never again exist. You chose this piece of sky, I am sure, for a reason. Or, maybe I'm just making too much out of it. ;-) Great work.

Actually, no, Greg, the clouds were making these lines vertically as they streamed above. The shot was taken just like this.

I like skies, but they're seldom strong enough to carry a picture by themselves, but this one is-- nice picture. I suspect it started out as a horizontal?

In his architectural studies, Mister Caldwell often presents the sky as a looming indifferent opposite to man's passionately believed-in creations. Here we see that he is well aware of the seductive beauty of endlessly mutating organic nature.
