About Knapweed is an aggressive invasive plant. There are many species of this guy Russian, Spotted, Diffuse and Black. The scientific name Centaurea is from the Greek kentaurion and means plant of the Centaurs. Named after Centaur named Chiron who is said to have used a similar plant to heal wounds suffered in his foot by an arrow that Hercules had poisoned with the blood of Hydra.
