An evening shot from Gdańsk, Old Town. The proud port city, one of richest in historical Poland, defending Poland in times of war but being a home for those who had to escape because of "wrong" ideology or religion. In XVI century Polish king made tolerance as a state of law there and due to this fact many people searched for safe place in the city.
A home to Johannes Hevelius, Artur Schopenhauer, Günter Grass, Gabriel Fahrenheit, Lech Wałęsa and many more.
Maybe the photo is not the typical image of Gdańsk like cityscape or famous buildings, or first of all fountain of Neptune, but I find this one somehow peaceful and calming, maybe a bit of hope for these hard times.
