Actually this is the hole for Air circulation.
In that district of town buildings are quite old and most of them unfortunetely not well kept...

A wonderful shot and title Mesut. It looks like a pretty big hole. Because it's over a door, I'm thinking it was put there for a reason. In thumbnail view I thought you had combined several shots into one.
