To all my useful friends, especially Salvador for reminding an old mind like mine with this occasion. Anita, I know you will forgive me. The image was shot by dearest Ania.
Oh, I'm happy you chose this for your post today, and now you know how to count when Easter happens :) Thank you very much.
You know what, I was deeply sad each time I read from you that Christians escaped, disappeared from there, churches are empty anymore. This region was always multiethnic, multilingual and multireligious, not to mention also how big historical value there is in that birthplace of civilisation. This is something beautiful for me. There are people who think a country should have one nation, but I consider them intolerant and blind. Poland used to be very mixed and because of XX century wars, when you look at statistics, there is almost no one left from other nations comparing to past anymore. They killed our Jews and the rest of them mostly left country or was forced to leave. The muslim Tatar minority is a few thousand because of soviet policy towards them, the 40s and 50s policy spreaded some nations (Tatars, Ukrainians) across the country, took out their roots and forced them to live where they have never even been before in their lives. Now Ukrainian city of Lviv was mostly Polish-Jewish city and there is no Pole anymore there, ust because Stalin had an idea to make it an USSR city and simply move people living there to Wroclaw, ex-Breslau, which before war was German city. I can see only what's left from past and just some people who still live here against all odds and cruel history. You are witness to similar thing which happens so fast, I'm so deeply sorry for that, I don't know how on Earth such cruel minded people live in this world and why they cannot let ordinary people to just live their lifes...
