About Black Twinberry or Lonicera involucrata is a shrub that produces these two black fruits. Several medicinal uses for this plant, twigs and leaves for tea. Some Indians thought the berries would make you crazy but birds and other animals eat the berries which are bitter. Lonicera is named after a botanist and involucrata means with an involucre and that refers to the red bracts that wrap the flowers and fruit.
