I love the DOF and the darkness of this. Shallow DOFs always work well with this type of subject imo because it allows all similar shapes to be out of focus but remain as muted echoes of the subject.
However, I have to complain about the composition. I really think the central focus hurts this image. If you can reshoot, I would compose with the focused weed to the left because the shadow shapes are more interesting on the right. Or if you can't reshoot, try cropping from the right.

How beautiful can look simple vegetables with a photographer's eye! Very beautiful and elegant composition, I think you made the best thing darkening the background, so the little flowers stand out perfectly. Bye Massimo

At first look I can say pretty dark shot but I like it as a piece of art and I critique it like that. So the result looks pretty impressive with a so simple plant and generaly the background diferences of tones looks also artistically nice. So the artwork you did diserve this 7,7,7,7,7 that already have!
