I very much appreciated your critique. I was trying for a subdued look. While strong, I wanted to show that she is not the sole source but a part of the scene (blending in to the dark background) yet leaving no doubt that she is in charge. IMHO having her look at the camera would have made her too strong and independent. Make sense? Additional comments welcomed.

Great photo and beautiful color, but for me the lighting is a bit too soft. Also with a title "I Am Woman" I would have liked to see more eye contact of a strong woman versus a casual off glance

yes ,what ever you have said is quite true ,
glad you have increased the softness of the image ,it is just a way to say ,no matter how rough she may looks ,but she is the softest thing ever created ,I like them both.
