I considered to buy a Walimex 650-1300 lens priced 260Euro
but I don't know about any good examples.And what if the fixed F stop does not give me sufficient light?. because I need iso 100 and shutterspeed 1/10 at the max

It's the same old hommade telescope lens, Dave.
but I managed to buy a prof old Movie Tripod(Max Killi Munchen)and used now Canon50D.More pix and live view
able to focus on the spot.The setting is Mirror Lock and 12sec timer,to avoid any blur.iso100 and exposure 1/15 sec.A rising moon is to dark to photograph,so I wait till the moon is at about 30degrees above horizon.
