About Shot in Arches National Park, Utah. Here's a different take on Delicate Arch. I saw a resemblance of Atlas- the mythological Titan who was condemned to support the heavens upon his shoulders. A Nikon circular polarizer really brought out the clouds.

The lighting and framing are wonderful here. Is there any chance you shot a similar view without the clouds? Although the clouds add a beautiful perspective here, I am curious what that red rock would look like against the simple blue sky background.

You took the unusual view, and it really worked for you. The polarizer brought out the colors wonderfully.

Unique? Yes, Different? Yes, Colorful? Yes, but all I can think of is... Atlas Shrugged...:) (Anne Rand)

This is an interesting shot. very good take on what you saw. wonderful saturation and the lighting is right on. almost looks like you got a reflector set up ;-)
Sharpness is also very good.
thanks for the kudos on POTD, sure suprised me ! living up here does have its advantages, however I have a small network of people and we keep each other posted on were the activity is this is crucial to getting some of the shots.
thanks again, jimc

Sigh! I was just looking through my Delicate Arch pictures and feeling pretty proud of the dawn illumination, but then you posted this and I realise mine isn't very good after all.

Very original and beautifully executed, Andrew. I love it.

All credit for 'seeing' this image in the first place. Then you captured the rest, the colour, texture, good exposure and composition.
Just great!
