About
The Guild is comprised of the historic Guild Inn and its remarkable Gardens, situated high above Lake Ontario on the rugged Scarborough Bluffs, in the east end of Toronto.
It is a place of abiding mystery, shrouded in history and legend. Over the years, it has continued to attract local and international visitors. It has been a sanctuary and academy for artisans and artists of every kind. The Guild of All Arts, as it used to be known, is a legacy that cannot be neglected or erased.
The Guild Inn sits amid 90 acres of forest, gardens, lawns and woodland trails. An impressive collection of historic architecture and sculpture dots the landscape. In this scenic ‘installation’ where nature meets culture, the centrepiece is an open-air theatre modelled after the ancient Greeks.
First of a B&W series of images with a similar theme. Taken April 13/10
It's a great old place with a lot of history surrounding it. For Scarborough that is. It is probably one of the most interesting places in Scarborough. Lots of weird myths and old wives tales about hauntings and such. The grounds are very photogenic. I think the people who set up the sculpture gardens really knew wha they were doing.
BTW, I assume you are the same Tarzan Dan that used to work out of a couple of Toronto radio stations for a while? Or am I wrong?
Thanks Miodrag, It's hard to choose which images to post sometimes. I find my own favourites change from day to day. I took a few from this point of view and now I think I prefer another one from the set. Andre
