Thanks for the great comment Andre! Good to hear from you. I shoot most of mine on auto white balance and raw. I adjust the white balance in raw and have had good success at keeping it simple. I have tried some of the different choices in white balance and too have had success with the cloudy and some others out of camera. I still like the options with the raw, just more of a file hog. Hope you have a great year my friend.

Very nice Stan!
The morning light is wonderful. The warm sunlight glow looks great on the snow.
I was just reading an article in a nature photography magazine about shooting in the snow. I tried a few experiments that they suggested with varying degrees of success. They were mostly talking about changing the white balance for different effects on the image. When I tried them myself, I found on the Nikon that the "shade" setting for white balance was just beautiful for this kind of image. It really seemed to enhance the warm glow of the sun on the snow while still looking natural.
The "tungston bulb" setting really "over blued" everything in the image. But, I guess it's all subjective anyway.
Anyway, this image doesn't need any enhancement. :)

Thanks Dave, like snow flakes, no two mornings are the same when they begin the day. This was a crisp morning and when the light broke trough the clouds it was so beautiful over the peaks.

Thanks Judson, a view I have come to love over the last 30+ years. I live about 10 miles from the center peaks in this. I hike and play in these mountains often. Some great back country skiing as well.
