Well, I found it. Wasn't the Prado but the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, (also in Madrid). And it wasn't Renaissance art but Baroque.

Yes! You are right Don! I am looking desperately for the Renaissance painter who painted a peeled lemon, among the greater part of his still-life masterpiece. I saw it in the Prado, Madrid - and it made a powerful impression.

Great colors in both the limes and the gunk in the squeezer. Too bad about the background but great capture nonetheless
