Did I say "bords"? OK, I assume you understood "birds". :-D What kind of mind is that inside my head, I would really like to know! ;-)

Cheers!

Oh well, a chuckle is always good, Dan! Especially with old mathematicians that take parrots for peacocks, peacocks for rabbits, and rabbits for sharks. At least I remained in the family of bords, that is! ;-)

Cheers!

Well, I think I "lost" more comments than you did, Dan. Such a delay..

Anyway, indeed the contrast adjustment by working with levels always introduces some somilar oversaturation here and there. I wish I could use it with wisdom but still I am a beginner with such things.

Cheers!

Nick

Hi Nick, thanks for all your lovely detailed comments. Yes the increased contrast I think works well to pull the red head out, but then I feel over saturates other parts of the shot. I keep loosing comments back to people with usefilm recently

Thanks so much Cathy, yes they were so cute grooming each other I am sure they were doing in for the camera. Hard to miss with a lens that big :-). I got lots of great shots of these two actually, and yes I love number one.

Very very vivid and well defined colors here, Dan! They absorb the eye of the spectator right away with their brilliance and power. Especially with all those fine details on the feather dress of the two of them, the textures and the very well visible contours of everything. I only see some more "diffuse" look on the yellow feather at the right of the head of the right one, but the rest is crispy and clear. I assume that this was just an area where the smaller softer feathers in bright yellow really have that look of lack of strong texture. Anyway, the good details on the whole rest show a great focus.

The timing was perfect! It reall got something very individual and specific to the behavior of those guys. The character of the peacock (are they peacocks?) is strong and clear here.

As a question only, would more contrast be already too much? (Attachment.) I like your version because of the presence of a subtle softer diffuse light, but I don't know if more contrast does or does no good here.

Cheers!

Nick

Seeing this is no 2 I had to check out number one. The clarity of this image is superb and i was impressed with the relationship you have captured. But I must admit the relationship in number 1 is a delight! CC
