Another excellent work, Paul. This particular interpretation deviates from normal schema, and perhaps that's why I look more... but the result is fantastic for me, really!
Only in the small area in the lower right I perceive the "pois" dots as a disturb in your composition. But really work is still superb, Congrats!

Thank you, Osos. Yes, I went outside my normal style for this shot - and I'm glad I did.

Paul, I like it. It is harsh and biting and fits the concept. Not all pictures of women have to be pinups and perfect. It speaks more to the inner person than the outer. I think you could almost have gotten the same message with out the "broken" painted on but it is what Chelsea wanted. I like the crop/empty space as it continues to convey the emptiness of a broken spirit. Dave

TEENAGE WASTELANDS - good one, love the high contrast, dark mood ....prefer this one to the color version.... not enough dark stuff around these days, Paint It Black.....

Thanks, Jacques - that was my purpose to push contrast and detail - to match the no-nonsense mood.

I honestly did a Google image search to try to find another version of 'broken' but gave up without finding anything.

Paul I do like the color version, more control over light here and more appearance for the model, again your work is very skilled.

Well, as you can see from my port, I adore accurate skin tones. Chelsea wanted a series in B&W.

Hey, it wasn't disrespectful, Ray, it was honest. I have my own short-list of cliche images I'll never be doing, such as the model wrapped in caution tape, or the model sitting on the railroad track, or... ;)
It's all good, man.

a side note; Paul; I mean no disrespect. My photographs are awful, but I am an artist and I know what I have seen time and time again and this is it.

I've got a pretty thick skin, and if I rejected honest critique, I'd never grow as a photographer, Ray, so thanks.
This was Chelsea's concept.
As for the exposure, I've attached the raw image for your comparison. I over-sharpened to squeeze out as much detail and and existing texture as possible.

I knew what I said would come off as harsh and I guess I meant it to. I am not looking at his portfolio I am looking at this one shot. It's over exposed, the pose is something I have seen a million times; and writing "broken" on your model is as done as done can be. sorry

Thank you for that honest feedback, Rashed. That's what I hope to receive from everyone on Usefilm.
My reason for the space above is because it has to be cropped for 9x12 portfolio prints.
Again, thanks.

My Friend, D. Ray,
Paul is not just a magnificent photographer but an amazing artist, I started viewing all of the images he posting while I was at my 2nd year at the senior school.
I always loved his work, to me every image he been posting was like a living creature from another wonderful plant and not just a stationary photograph.
I learnt a lot from him, and I am sure many did learn out of his work also.
It is just I did not like this sort of modeling ending with this sort of contrast while there many would like it, this stile do have a lot lovers.
I am also pleased to meet so many nice people here and wishing you all of the best my friend.

Well Paul, this is not the sort of contrast I would enjoy viewing for a B/W image, neither the emptiness of the top portion here, which do not help the composition by any means.
May be many other looks at this image with a more positive opinions than mine, it’s just how I personally working it out.
Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.
