I love this capture Jo ~ it is full of fun and energy ~ the boy at the front looks like he's trying to stay cool ~ did that snowball above his head hit him? Apart from our brief snowfall last week we missed all the excitement down here and now just have grey & gloom!

Hi there Jo, I don't normally look at my computer on Tuesdays but caught your question. The place I came from was, then, a small community topsides of Glasgow called Killearn (think that's how it's spelt). I try not to treat photography too seriously these days so I think my learning is at a standstill. It is a fascinating hobby and far less complicated now that it is largely digital. Enjoy your camera and photo outings Jo. I will be back on UF tomorrow and I will take a peek at what you are up to. Take care, best wishes...Ray

Many thanks for your kind comment Roby! I realise it's technically not a great shot at all but I liked the fun moment that I'd captured and so that's why I posted - and to get critiques from the experts here at UF on how to achieve it better technically! I'm happy to report that the sun is shining and the sky is blue here in Edinburgh today! :-) I hope it is there in my other favourite country too! Kind regards, Jo

A great fun filled composition and I guess that JJ has handled your query. Good, cos I haven't a clue on that We had some snow way down south and I got very little of interest out of it so well done to you. I saw your name in your visit to Doyle and thought I'd see where you came from. I am a native of Scotland dozens of decades ago . Best wishes......Ray

If you use an external flash and set it to rear curtain sink you would have the streak first and the snowflake at the end of the streak as opposed to having the snowflake frozen with the streak following.
