Paul, You can use any photo editing software! of course I don't know what platform you are using but in Mac I open my image in PS CS2 then go to edit---> assign profile----> choose do not color manage this document and save the image. Personally I prefer Expression Media software, it seems does a better job in removing the color profile tag. Photos with no color profile might need a little tweaking before upload! you can check that by opening your image in web browser. Give it a try, you won't regret it!!

Devo's eye looks great and tack sharp but it looks very washed out and desaturated on my calibrated monitor!! I suggest that you remove Adobe RGB color profile from your image before uploading. I believe almost no browser supports that profile and can cause color saturation and density shift.
