Things are not that severe yet here, but any major loan is going to be looked at a lot harder. Credit cards and car loans from the banks will keep going.
the mortgage game is going to take some time to sort out. The main building projects now in my area are a couple of new banks, fancy that!!

Banks goes nuts here. They hardly give ya a loan unless you can provide goods of equal value ( gold as security ). Now the govement is pumping billions in bank but it doesnt help, every bank wants to have more so they can present themself as the best bank. Latest trend, splitting up a bank in gooed and bad banks, so lets say ABN will split up in ABN-good with customer savings and a ABN-bad that covers all mortgages issued for purchase of houses.
Dirty games Stan. Can I move over to Mt ? Then I might become the Euro bomber hahahaha

Morning Harry,
I heard an interview of 3 top bank CFO's and they all said that the bailout money is being held by them as a cash asset. They are not going to use it right now. They want to have more cash on their books. Yes, our money is obviously not really ours to have. No easy answer here!!

Even worse. The banks are filling the holes with our money ( government credits = our money ).
The government encourages us to consume more.
So WE are paying the price twice.

Nice one Harry, my problems come from not following 4,5,6. I am not a good consumer of new. I have lived off of the thrift stores my whole life for what little that I do need. Thanks for your thoughts on what will lie ahead. I think the banks just bought bigger shovels for the holes they are digging.
