Hey, but then... Malules, what about showing us a couple more of those images you took of the chairs? i have the impression that they could be good for a small series if some general consistency is present.
For some reason, and though I didn't see them, I already imagine them as big posters, one after the other on a big wall of some exhibition. They could really be good for that.
Cheers on a Saturday!
Nick

Hi Nick. Very interesting throughout his commentary and reflections on the photo. I agree with it entirely. Indeed this is an original shot. I made some twenty versions of the theme chairs in the park. Has made me smile to see your suggestion single chair. It is a picture that I did. It is even more direct. As always put any doubts. Finally I chose this.
Thank you for sharing ideas and opinions. hug, Malules

A very nice minimalistic idea, Malules! Was it your original shot or did you alter it afterward? Anyway, it is surprising to me because it is both flat and with trong depth, depending on how one looks at it. The chair lacks sharp details but this is secondary to me here. It is much mor that it seems to "swim" in a sea of blank space, which I guess gives the chair its dominating role in the image.
If I concentrate too much in the chair alone, then the image looks flat, but if I concentrate on the chair in realtion to its surrounding white space, it suddenly changes to an image with depth. There are implicite leading lines that I think are generated by the fact that the legs of the chair seem to meet the white space on different points in such a way that perpective is generated. The background chairs seem to enhance that. If one clones them out it seems that this "latent" perspective gets weaker. (Quick and dirty cloning on attachment.)
Together with the rather unusual greenish tones it looks very modern, very stylish to me.
Cheers!
Nick

Cloned off chairs on background for showing their importance for latent perspective |
