I would like to thank each of you for commenting my photograph.
Of course the noise(grain) is part of the BW film realities and most of the times it adds to its magic in my opinion.
As far as Gary's concern over the distracting white paper , i believe he is right. Usually i do not crop my photos after the shoot( apart from some slight edge trimming) .In any case this photo is already cropped ( as a couple of other portraits i have uploaded lately) to improve the impact. But Gary i followed your advice and i have cropped again this portrait and the result is quite interesting. I will upload it tomorrow.

I like the film grain but the expanse of white takes the eyes away from his face so I think this image would be better if it were cropped at the end of his beard
