Thanks Saad,
Yes, I agree that Istanbul is a point of discussion in the west from a historical point. But luckily in many many countries different religions can live together. We have to because there can only be one reality, one God, one heaven etc. And I can only accept myself 'teasing' you when I can see a smile on tour face, otherwise i will forbid myself to do so.
Salaam, Harry

forgive you for what ? it is the whole west that have the idea that Istanbul is belonging to them, and whatever is there is Christian,
for me correction of prejudged ideas is of great importance,
the Great Calif Omar, when the Muslims conquered Al Quids, and as a respect to the Christian refuses to pray inside the Beatlemania church,in order for the Muslims not to say here our Calif have prayed and try to take it from the Christian,
we have different cultures, and we have to live with each others,if wanted that ,or not.
if wanted that we will transform the world into paradise,if not it will be hell,
so many thanks for your teasing me,forever you will be finding me an understanding friend,
Saad.

Forgive me my dear Saad, I was just a bit 'teasing' you in the hope you would pick up the well meant joke. But you said very wise words. Thanks for the information you have !
Salaam, Harry

Dear Harry,it doesn't matter if the Christian or Muslims who built the house of god,the things that matters is that it is still used as a house of God,and cherished in the most honorable way.
anyhow for the truth itself, and not for other thing here is its history:

The Beyazidye Camii was commissioned by Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II, and was the second large imperial mosque complex to be erected in Istanbul after the Conquest. As the earliest complex, the Fatih Mosque was subsequently destroyed by earthquakes and completely rebuilt in a different style, the Beyazidye complex is thus of considerable historical and architectural significance.Little is known about the architect other than that he also built a caravansary in Bursa; however, the polished style of the mosque itself indicates experience with earlier Ottoman and western architectural techniques. The surrounding kulliye complex (madrasah, primary school, imaret (public kitchen) and hammam, date from 1501 to 1506.

The dome was partially rebuilt after an earthquake in 1509, and Mimar Sinan conducted further repairs in 1573–74. The minarets burned separately in 1683 and 1764. An inscription above the courtyard entrance suggests that repairs were also conducted in 1767.
