What wonderful character emerges from this battered old building sweet Shirley. It would have looked amazing in it's heyday but still hangs on to a great presence even now. The monochromatic tones are excellent and enhance the feeling of age to this beautiful moody mysterious composition. The details are superb, well done sweetie. Yes, it was quite a find, and quite a story getting this photo. My friend and I were out photographing when we found this, and were all set up to take pictures, when the owner came driving down the driveway (she lived in a mobile home behind it), yelling for us not to take photos. I explained they were just for camera club and she softened a bit. Later, when we saw how great the photos were, we went back and asked for signed model releases. She explained that she had a violent ex-husband that she was hiding from and that was why she was afraid to have the photos published. We promised not to publish them at that time. Well, sadly, later we were notified that she had been killed in an automobile accident, so I guess there are no longer any restrictions. She had actually planned to fix up this house, although it looks to be too far gone for that, at least to me.
