This one caught my eye in your wonderful portfolio Michele. I particularly love the multi toned range of colours in the water and the lovely rippling effect as well. The details in the trunk of this old tree are great and isn't it wonderful to see a little growth hanging tenuously to life. A very delightful nature study, well done. Best wishes ....Ray

Your projects sound wonderful, artistic and sooooooo creative ...but I am really impressed with your work - honestly - I see a giant improvement - not that you weren't good before you took your sebatacle (sp) but so much better with your lighting especially -
Keep me informed and don't stay away so long since you've always been a big help to me & I search for really good and helpful critiques and they are sometimes hard to find altho there are ones that I totally appreciate .....

Ghee I struggle too much Michele!!
Im trying to improve my creativity
and that is very hard for me cause
I try to hard to make something perfect
and unique everytime and I know that is
not what happens. I just need to shoot more
and not worry so much. Im working on a project
body of work I am planning on submitting to
a couple of the local galleries here in the
Atlanta area this spring. Two projects really.
One of them is kinda in a stall at the moment
but hopping to get it back on track. That is
one Im working on with a traditional artist
who is painting some of my photos and I want
to figure out the best way to present both
bodies of work together. The other one....is
What Im calling "Art with photographs"
Im trying to build a small collection of about 7
to 10 images together with just traditional
photography and very little work in photoshop
other than the basics....But yet to have them
look more like pantings.....Then on top of that
I am just now starting to again work with some
area models.....So Im hoping the future will be
bright and offer alittle succsess of somekind!
Its a great area for artist here and they are
really big on supporting of the local artest.
Now Im having to start all over getting myself
noticed! Keep me in your prayers and Ill do the
same for you my friend!!!!!

This is really very nice Michele. You have captured it very well. The color are subtle and natural. Very well composed with good lighting and exposure control. The details and depth are wonderful with good sharp point of focus. Good story telling image. Well seen my friend!

It looks like a stricken animal with its front leg over its eyes.
I'm going to disagree with Avi, though, since I would not wish for the dying tree to become less prominent in the image (although it might work if you could get a lower POV). But for me, just the glimpse of the healthy trees in the background is enough.

A beautiful natural sculpture dear Michele. Gives a good feeling to look at this scene and see past time, struggle for life and and how water is always central in this process.
Textures of wood and water surface all represented in natural and attractive colours. The light green on top of the trunk gives so much hope.
Very good Michele, I would say that I see this now as you could previously enjoy it as well.

This is good Michele. The colors are neutral (not over saturated) the exposure is perfect and the story telling is good. The inlcusion of the background trees is also good, however, if possible I would have liked to see the full length of the trees in the background - as in that way, your story gains strength. So basically what I am suggesting is a little zoom out on your main subject and possibly framing it in the portrait mode.
But overall, I am very happy to see that you took constructive criticism and the improvement in your photography is showing !
This is VERY good. :)
