Hi Kostas, thanks for your comment, I certainly don't mind, suggestions for improvement are always welcome!
The original slide was quite dark and the scan was even darker.
I though the ribbons would stand out better if I left the rest of the image dark, but it is still possible to make it lighter as you showed. However it seems that the colours also need a correction in this case.
See attachment: I increased brightness and contrast, corrected colours towards yellow and added unsharp mask.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought that this image is rather dark,and so I opened it and tried some adjustments on it.
I like both the composition and the mood of your photo,Hermen,and I hope you don't mind me giving an alternative.
