Hi Ali, how have you been? Glad you liked "Puffin", it was taken at a music event I went to. I was 30 feet away when I caught this shot. Thought she was striking! Be well, Stan

My Dear and Wise Friend Stan! First of All your title is perfect. This young lady like a box of candid. You really pointed us "being different". And her style of smoking tabacco extremely interesting. She is not smoking really eats the cigarette. Warm Regards. Ali

Thanks Dani, I have never used tobacco products and am glad. Felt empathy for this young girl. Growing up is tough these days. The hair got my attention and the capture really did show up the red. Not much PS on this! Be well, Stan

Hi Harry, I guess without the childhood I have gone on to other things. I have been raising kids for over 30 years. One adopted son in 2nd marriege, 3 grand kids from 3rd marriage and now a 41/2 year old that I have had from day one. I have played and done kid things the last 15 years with my grandkids and have recaptured my youth with them. It is all good and I love the time of discovery with them. I can give them what I did not have and experience what I missed at another time. It all works out! Fortunately I have not wanted to shoot myself or do harm to myself. I keep finding joy in the simple things and try to keep life fresh. My camera gives me a forum to put out what I see and how my life is impacted by nature and other forms of life. Glad that we can look at some of this together and support our photography. Be well, Stan

Stan,
I think I have an idea what you went through, you have not had a childhood in fact.Sorry to hear that.
"I do not do well with bosses so I am my own." Thats what we both have in common ....
My parents were both healty and had a farm. I had no free time bcse I always had to help on the farm. Besides we had a kind of 'Nam' at home where my brother and me were in the no-mansland, being denied existence and being shot at by both sides ....
That denial is buried so deep inside that "I wanna shoot myself". Photography keeps me alive.
Harry

When I was 13 my mother was diagnosed with a serious heart problem. She was confined to bed for 5 years. I had 3 newspaper routes, took care of a brother and sister, did school and worked after school to help pay the bills. During that time my dad had major lumbar fusion in back and 3 vein stripping surgeries for his legs. I did not have a chance to want to run away. I had to step up and start early for the responsibility thing. I have lost hair before I got a chance to change colors. I have been self employed as a builder since 1975. I do not do well with bosses so I am my own. I guess that is why I live in Montana where I have the freedom to pick and chose my work and the locations that I work. Have a great day, I am off to install some new baseboard and door trim in a remodel I am finishing. Be well, Stan

I wanted to run from home when I was 13. But did not know where to go ......... Thats a reason why I tralled a lot when I was at work. I felt welcome when I arrived, did my job, saw new cities and left usually after 1-3 months. When I got back and worked at the office i did not feel happy, i missed my freedom. And thats why I find Montana so great, so much space, free . Time to color my hair in a red tint ....

Martin, no offense but it just does not have the punch of the colors. The whole shot I saw was the hair and the toughness. My eyes were in the moment of the look and the colors versus the tame crowd. I saw the rebel with my Rebel. Be well my friend and thanks for your thoughts as well, Stan

Harry, no judgment on my part, I talked to her and she and I had a good discussion. She and her friends were doing some fire dancing at the gate when I left the music. She has been on her own since 15. Be well, Stan

"she caught my eye and I was captivated by her strong presence"
Possibly compensation for having been fragile in her inner. People are not always what they seem ...... OK enough psych talk.

Piercings, red hair, doggy belt are usually signs of some personality disorder due to emotional neglectance or emotional abuse in her youth. Thats what I learn on the sofa when I stay awake. Experienced it myself (neglectance or emotional abuse in my youth). So dont judge on her please. Be well, Harry

Hi Joe. I considered this for a while and then said what the heck. I posted it as a pulse of todays lifestyles and cultural diversity. Glad you liked my Canon colors. I am sure you enjoy that 5D. My step son is a portrait photographer and he loves his. I started with a Rebel due to finances. I have no regrets and have learned a lot fast. Incredible camera for the price. Thanks for the help and encouragement, may I put you on my friends list? Be well, Stan
