Well, I might say the pope is wearing a costume, but that is not the point;-) I am sorry for my error. A poor choice of wording based on ignorance on my part. The outfits they were wearing were quite beautiful and one could see that they were all unique and the participants were all proud to wear their regalia.
I hope I have done justice with my images to this wonderful event. I have a much larger album set up at
http://www.ipernity.com/doc/geedub/album/76992
if you are interested.

Robert Delgadillo,

Oh, I forgot one thing...the word "costumes" implies dress up or something...most Natives perfer "Regalia" or "Outfit"...for example a lot of the the items on my regalia has meaning to me, becuase they have been passed down from my family or good friends...also the Egale feathers hold a very special place in our traditions and spirituality...just thought I'd share that with you. You would say the Pope is wearing his costume for Sunday Mass, right? Well like I said before...Great shot!!!!!

Best Wishes,
Chuck

Robert Delgadillo,

Great shot and perfect natural lighting...it really brings out the detail and high lights/contrast that really makes this photo pop....as a Native American (Lipan Apache/Cherokee), I have to say you really nailed this photo...Great Job!!!! 7/7+++++++++++

Best Wishes,
Chuck

It was a moving experience. I do have many more that I will be posting. It was nearly 100 F at the time of this event with their costumes making it even hotter with no shade for the performers in the center circle. Be sure to check back as some of the ones I just processed are much better than this one.
