The mail did seem to go through, Joggie. However my first attempt with manuals attached was too big and bounced. If you didn't receive it, let me know. It will be interesting to see how using Capture NX will influence your imaging. Eb

Joggie, I took another look at the problem you had with poor colour separation of the clouds. Usually, I find this easy to accomplish with "control point" technology in Nikon Capture NX. I have an extra copy, never used serial, which came with my D300. Nikon did not intent it for resale, but I am sure it is OK if I give it to you. Let me know! You may still have my email address. I tried yours but both no longer work. Regards! Eb

Yes, I suppose you are right, Joggie. It is the blueishness of the clouds that gives the sky its "outstanding" appearance. To me it just looked to be an appearance of relative (to the rest of the scene) oversaturation. Eb

Thanks Eb - the sky was mostly the result of a Polarizer filter. My critique on my own image would be the loss of the whites in the (very thin)clouds which keep loosing their whites in the JPG conversion - not sure why. The greens are as close to natural as I could get them. This is an arid region and the vegetation is characteristically of a blueish/green colour (see the "River of Reeds") The intense greens do occur but mainly along the streams and cooler southern and south-western facing slopes. Keep well. Joggie

It must have been quite a task to get the lovely blue sky, a complement to the reddish rock! It's great, Joggie! In comparison, the greens look a little under saturated. But then, my eyes are acclimatized to lush coastal growth. Eb

Thank you so much for the about Joggie, as well as the great photo, its a pity its quite far driving from Capetown, as I did only see parts of it, as I told you I did see the Little Karoo Park, you must have had a wonderful time! I am very sure your shots do justice I love to see more of them:) Be well, Jenxx
