Indeed I get an excitement, Andre!
And this is just because I start seeing how humble, reasonable, down to earth, and perhaps also very very human the approach of Adams was, (And still is!) For it doesn't promise you any kind of Disneylands. It doesn't say "I'll turn anything to some unbelievable scene,.". No, it just says, more or less: "Listen guy, I am willing to do my best to help you, but I won't put any more emphasis on those waters just because you would like that so."
You know, it is *then* when you get a much more "inner" relation to the available light, which is enough to *see* what the scene is all about, and so also perhaps capture it. That step is the most important, I guess, no matter of special camera, no matter of digital or film. It must be the pure essence of it.
And I guess that the enjoyment is at the end only this: To be able to wander around hand in hand with the available light. It will show you what is feasible if you first just accept that. The A and O of all our approaches, I guess.
In that sense, perhaps we don't reall "capture". Perhaps we just get captured? Perhaps all pur images are just witnesses of what captured us?
Cheers!
Nick

Thanks a lot Vandi! It was a very "systematical" approach, as I said to Andre, and I am glad that you like it, since it shows me that some old things are still valid in the days of quick "point and shoot" photography.
Cheers!

Yes Nick, It isn't just the luck of getting the right light that gives you results like this one. It helps if the light is easy to work with. But, I can see you are getting a lot of enjoyment out of working with the zone system and the improvement shows in these landscapes. Andre

Thank you so much Andre!
Well, in fact I was just following the light, since light is the king and we can only be its servants ;-) But there was somebody indeed that cooperated with me and that was Adams again - I used the same method already described on the other one. It seems to work.
I think we owe too much to that guy. Alone the fact that his approach is still with us and helps us so much, it is enough to think of him when we are out there shooting. Or so I think.
Thanks once again!

Thanks a lot agaon, Dave! I find this a bit better than the other one. (Of course! It is wider angle! ;-))

I think the light was really cooperating for you that day Nick. Andre

I like the composition of the bridge leading into the shot, Nick, and the contrast with the vertical poles along the edges. Dave.

Thank you very much, Gustavo! It was hard to getn those details well under that light and focal length, and so I am glad that you like this.
