Nicely done Michele. I like the layout very much. This shot seems a tad smaller than your usual (550px vs 850px) so I'm gussing a creative crop? I'm wondering if you used a flash (and assuming you did). I did note too that you have the -1.0 exposure compensation (in case you didn't realize). For this type of shot you should have been (and probably were) on the 3D Color Matrix Metering that the D40 really excells in. Might be worth bumping up the ISO to experiment a bit with . . . it would allow a faster shutter for the same aperture . . . just to play, experiment and see . . . not necessarily to post. I'd also play with creative lights and creative placement for lights. . . maybe even colored lights . . . and no flash. Looks like a lot of fun possibilities for experimenting.
Anyway . . . all in all very good. Given the right editing program you could really highlight the 'Golden' look to this one . . . which is exquisitely subtle.
Lookee me . . . I'm a Donor! :P

nice shot, it's interesting the details of the light reflections into the glasses...and because they are lot of glasses here the reflections are lot and makes a nice composition with also the 'columns' of them... nice focus Michele.
