Thanks a lot again, AJ! It's hard for me too, to think of a way to do that. Still working on it.
About the windows... I don't really know. I seem to jump between Ronen's comment/idea to not cut them, and the way they are now. It would a more "integrated" view with complete windows but then it would also look less concentrated on the door. That's my impression.
Cheers!

That one on the right is what I had in mind - in a smoothed sort of way. I'd have to think a bit more how to do it, though.
BTW, I like the fact that the windows at either side are cut down the middle...

But not as sharp focus as it could be, I guess, or else it would be easily readable. I think it says "In questa cassa visse e mori", but I am not sure.
Anyway, it is the house of Alessandro Manzoni, a writer.
Thanks a lot for the comment, Avi!

You might be very right about the windows!

Thanks a lot again, Dave! Nice to see that you also suggest a black frame, as A.J. also did. I think it was the right thing to do here. So, in this case we are all converging.
Have a nice weekend!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the detailed suggestions, AJ! I didn't even notice that the ochre band was ragged at the corners, so I thank you very much for telling. These are such ols images that I forgot that at that time I didn't know hoe to make an exact frame and used four lines of some width around the image. I must work on them now.
I attached both your suggestions. I think that I'd rather keep the simple one, but is the one at the right what you meant? I just copied a band from the window frames and pasted it at the edges of the image. I hope I understood you right.
Cheers,
Nick

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the info, Ugo! Hopefully the image did catch a bit of the house's character.

Nicely done architectural shot, Nick, and great colours! Possibly just sticking to the black frame would have worked as well. Well seen and captured! Dave.

The house is marvellous, and the composition beautifully set up - each element perfectly aligned and perfectly placed.
You draw attention to the frame with your "about". I find that too much of the image runs into the ochre colour - maybe an inner single pixel of black would help this. But also, the corners of the ochre band seem just a little ragged.
(Just a thought - it might be fun to make the ochre band from a cloned section of one of the outer borders of one of the windows. Or would that be too much?)

Bella fotografia del Museo Manzoniano che ha sede nella casa nella quale lo scrittore Alessandro Manzoni visse con la famiglia dal 1814 al 1873, anno della sua morte.
