About That series of columns looked nice for a try under the heavy weather that somehow fits the reference to history. I hope that the columns bring that kind of atmosphere to the image. But I guess the composition could be better. Any ideas?

Hmmm, I am quite ambivalent on this one, Alida! It was my intention to get it this way, but after Linda's detailed suggestion I have to wonder if it is really as good.

Cheers!

The whole series of Milan seems to stand under that rather low, "muddy" light/toning, Linda! On the one hand I am glad that there is some constistency, but on the other hand I don't know if this was the best possible light for that city. Anyway, it was just the avalable light, and we just have to work with that. If the light is not at your side, then go to its side, that is. (Which I tried, but...)

I see what you mean about standing more to the left. It would help to separate the columns visually, wouldn't it? I don't know if the rather rusty and silent appearance of the columns would remain as strong then, but surely it would have a more "architectural" accent.

Many many thanks for the suggestion! It brings so much more than the steady celebration of each and every image!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Gustavo!

And yes, I do ask myself what they were thinking about when they placed the cable there. Somebody in the municipal authoroties was sleeping! ;-)

But this time that cable makes it also a bit more city-like, which I think I always find a good thing. I guess, however, there are indeed much better ways to make it look more like something in a city than wires in the middle of the image.

Cheers,

Nick

Stupendo scatto, perfetto il taglio delle colonne e il dettaglio del piccione volando. Bravissimo!!!!!!!!!!!

Another difficult one to compose Nick. I think I'd stand more to the left and maybe have some space in between them, the rust is nice, and I can see again that the light was not on your side! I think you did well under the circumstances :))

Interesante y logrado punto de vista, solo y como siempre me molesta el cable negro.
Un abrazo!
