Very good rendering of the snow, especially set against the plain blue sky.

Wow nice capture Dave.I have never had the chance to take a picture of snow but I know how hard it was getting a white cockatoo with the sun on it. The white balance went crazy. Well done. You live in a very beautiful country with such colourful contrasts in seasons.:)

That could have been such a great one, Dave! Not that it isn't good enough as it is now, but imagine that as the dominating element on an endless plain of depth with a tree as a size/distance indicator!
Nonetheless, except for some overexposure at some regions of the ice cube, you managed to tame the light well.

I like this Dave . . . though, like Aaron, I think it might be better presented in B&W! Very cool (*cough, cough* . . . excuse the pun but you KNOW me) image! :)

One of the advantages of living a little north is all the beautiful winter scenes. Thanks for sharing. Snow is not easy to film if the light is not just right. You do a good job. Del.

WOW Dave this is awesome. Excellent light and exposure with wonderful details in the whites, very nice depth, almost a 3D effect, and great use of that shadow compositionally to lead the eye to your subject. Great whites!! The textures are good too it almost seems like stone...very, very well done!!! :))

Very nice carving, and am glad you are having milder weather, we just received 50 cm of fresh snow. I hear they are golfing in Calgary.
