Thanks so much for a very good critique, Bob, except you left out that the jar is situated on one of the diagonal lines of the tiles, and inadvertant oversight. This jar had some dark spots at its base that prevented me from finding a clean side, too. Only jar I had, thought. Regards. Anson

Nice tones, as has been noted. The range is full and bright without glare. I also like the way the two angled lines at the upper left correspond with the right edge of the jar. Another nice touch is the diagonal line starting at the right leading across and into the picture space then ending at the base of the two angled lines. It's all dynamic and stable.

It is always a treat to hear from your old friends, Marty, and you are at the top of my list. Lilla and I are seriously planning an extended excursion to Texas in 2009 to visit her childhood homes around Belton, outside Austin somewhere. I have always wanted to photograph the bluebonnets there, and other flowers in the spring. We are going to Alaska for an extended visit this year. So good to hear from a true Texan. Regards. Anson

We just had new tiles put down in our home, Julie, and this old clay jar just seemed right on them. Something to do when the storms are coming in off the Gulf of Mexico and you can't go outside. So glad it caught your eye. Hugs, dear friend. Anson
