Thanks Debra, I see what you mean by the halo effect, I'll work on that in my next post. As for the cropping, I have some shots of this tree off center, which I'll work on and post in the next day or so. Please keep watch and let me know what you think of the next posting. Thanks, Jim
This composite features a nice use of sepia in limited quantities. The subject is promptly centered for deliberate focus. I would first crop 1/5 of the top of the frame to bring focus to the tree and away from the sky. Next, the tree needs to be cleaned up as it seems a bit dirty or displays a hallow affect. Love the color reminds me a bit of an album cover from the group, 'Days of the New'
There are a lot of things about this image that I like. The colors are warm and the subject tree is interesting. However, if you want me to be critical, I can see a halo from your PS on the base of the trunk. Also for me the totally centered cropping is a bit mundane and I would crop as below for more interest and tension (I stretched out the left side and cropped off the top). I also think you need a little more on the bottom, but I could not reproduce this. See what you think, its just an opinion and I am sure there are many nice versions of this image. Thanks for posting. Regards, Debra
