Thanks for thinking about this one, Tim. I have a struggle with it, too! It can be cropped tighter, evenly all around, for more emphasis on the flower and preserving inherent balance. However, unsymmetrical cropping will really throw it off! I think this is because it is balanced with the centre of the bloom exactly on the third.

I think what i am saying, is that it is to balanced for my eye and a bit of tension introduced by cropping it just right would make this even better.

I like the elements of this image but I think that it could be enhanced somewhat with a closer cropping making it less about the back ground and really bringing home the focus of the floral interest.
