Thanx for all of your comments. and yes, in regard to kristina and ron's comments, the eyes of older people, especially those malnurished and poor, often lose thier pigment and become cloudy. that is what has led to the out of focus look

well, dont' worry about the eyes ben, old people's eyes get cloudy so when they are in focus they still look cloudy (odd how that works out). that's part of the beauty of this photo, is her incredibly ugliness.
